It is for this reason that the H4P Organization initiated the Helping Hand Community Project. This project is aimed at providing support; financial, logistics, etc. to individuals with disability, families of persons with disability, special education schools, as well as disability oriented organizations. Some organizations and institutions that have benefitted from the Helping Hand Community Project include; Wa Senior High School, Wa Methodist School for the Blind and Deaf (Upper West Region) New Horizon Special School (Greater Accra Region), Akropong School for the Blind (Eastern Region), Dr. Seth Tetteh Ocloo School for the Deaf (Greater Accra),Sharecare Ghana (Greater Accra), Autism Awareness Care and Training Centre (Greater Accra).
Achievements from the Helping Hand Community Projects:
1.From this project, we have instituted the H4P National inter-schools Disability fun games, to create a platform to harness the potential of persons with disability, create a relationship between the various special schools in Ghana and also to encourage parents, with respect to educating these special children. This is an annual event set in the month of February each year.
2.We often organize periodic Disability Seminars, nationwide, which also serve as a means of addressing the concerns of persons with disability.
3.Making frequent financial and product donations to special education schools in Ghana. Examples include donations to schools such as Wa School for the Blind, Wa School for the Deaf, Wa Senior High.
4.Providing assistance to certain disability oriented organizations such as Share Care Ghana, the Autism Awareness Care and Training Centre etc.
5.Financing and Setting up disabled individuals in viable jobs for their livelihood.
6.Enrolling and training disabled children in educational centres to build them up for the future.
